Went to Krabi and Ao Nang, Thailand with my husband on 26 October 2013.
Nice weather to travel over there will be from middle November to May and
it is also peak season as told by the locals.
We are lucky because only one day is raining heavy and the other days just
only drizzling for less than 10 to 30 minutes.
Krabi Airport
Once you have passed the Custom, you will find counters offering hotels, tours and transports.
We bought taxi transport tickets and at the end, we were given van.
No worry, it is a very comfortable 7 seaters van. This van driver asked us a lot of questions e.g.
which hotel we are going to stay, how many days we will be there and etc. Half way journey, he will
stop at one place and another person will come out from a building and asked us whether we
wanted to have local tours which we declined because we wanted to look for it our own.
Journey from Airport to Red Ginger Hotel took us around 30 minutes.
Krabi Town
We went to Krabi Town the next day. Do not want to miss out the Night Market (only Friday until Sunday).
We took the Tuk Tuk transport from around our hotel. When you notice the front top of the Tuk Tuk
has sign "Krabi Town", you just raise your hand to stop it and when the Tuk Tuk stop, you just hop in.
You pay to the driver when you have arrived at the Krabi Town. When you wanted to go back to
Ao Nang, you just locate the front or end of the Night Market and you find Tuk Tuk with sign
"Ao Nang" or you can asked around. The driver will collect the transport fee before he starts his
journey. Inside the Tuk Tuk, there is a bell to alert the driver that you wanted to get down.
We stop at the beginning of the Ao Nang road and walk back to our hotel.
Remember to go to Krabi Town around 5.00 pm and by the time finished everything will be
around 8.30 pm. Few hours will be enough.
This is Daily Market....selling local foods.
My husband bought local fruits from the Daily Market. Mango, Guava and Papaya.
We had beer at one of the pubs before proceed to the Night Market.
This is Night Market.
A lot of foreigners stop at this stall buying crafted flower soaps.
I like to drink their local orange juice. Sweet with some sourish taste.
Red Ginger Chic Resort Hotel
This is the hotel that we stayed. The hotel is not big and not small.
The accommodation is with daily buffet breakfast.
Hotel staff very friendly and helpful. Room is very clean. You have to pay for wifi for room usage or
you just have the free wifi at the lobby. Whenever we wanted to go to the center of the Ao Nang,
we just walk and walk and walk (only around 15 minutes).
Breakfast....don't be alarmed, the Coffee House has western food also. I took this picture because
I love Thailand Fried Noodle and Rice.
Outside our our hotel.
My husband said this Centara Hotel is also a good hotel.
This Mercure Hotel is located end of the road near our hotel.
This Naga Pura Hotel is middle of the road near our hotel.
This Ananta Burin Hotel is just slightly opposite our hotel.
I am very amuse with those wiring connected between poles.
Ao Nang and Surrounding Area
1st day when we have arrived at our hotel, we went out straight away for late lunch.
Had our late lunch at this restaurant which is located opposite the Mc Donald.
Opposite of the restaurant that we had our late lunch.
Night time at Ao Nang. This girl make hand strap with names.
Had lunch at this Wang Sai Seafood Restaurant the 2nd day. Just less than 10 minutes walk from our hotel. The food is delicious and cheap.
Ao Nang Beach
Walkway to and fro the Wang Sai Seafood Restaurant from our hotel.
This is dinner time at the restaurant going towards center of Ao Nang.
This area is just less than 5 minutes walk from our hotel and this is where we stop the
Tut Tuk to Krabi Town. The Tuk Tuk that we took to Krabi Town looks like the vehicle
on the bottom right hand side.
Center of Ao Nang with shops, restaurant and pubs. It is very lively during night time.
Local pancake.
I packed supper outside of our hotel.
My supper...... Fried Noodle and Pancake.
Island Hopping
We took one day trip to visit 4 islands.
The islands are Tup Island, Chicken Island, Poda Island
and Phrang Cave (Railay) Island.
We have chosen the wrong time to visit these 4 islands because it was drizzling most of the time
and rained heavily at the last island. Yet, we still enjoyed it. The beaches are very
Will definitely go back again.
